So it’s time for me to write something which I believe it can help others when I have accomplished my dream. After I scrolled down to read my old posts, I feel a bit surprised to realize how much I wanted to achieve it. Now, I am glad to say that I FINALLY MADE MY DREAM COME TRUE. Therefore, I want to share my experiences as well as some tips to you. I am sure that many people out there especially my friends really want to get some tips because they also want the achieve their dreams. Recently, I have received quite lots of inquiries asking about how to apply for scholarship. I clearly understand the feeling of seeking for help from others when we are in the middle of the ocean. So here I am, sharing some of my ideas, tips, and experiences of how to get a scholarship abroad. In this post, I will share my experience and personal reasons why I applied for a scholarship abroad.
In my next post, I will share what should you prepare before going the battle (I called “applying for scholarship” a battle field). Also, just for your information, it’s all about my personal experiences and opinions so it might be slightly different from what other people told you or what you have known.
Like I mentioned in my previous post, getting a scholarship abroad is my biggest dream since I was in college so I have planned to get it since I was in year 1. I had always told myself that I will pursue my Master’s Degree abroad no matter what. I think getting undergraduate degree in my own country is more than enough. It doesn’t mean that Master’s Degree in Cambodia is not good. In fact, I also won a scholarship to study Master’s Degree at the University of Cambodia but I gave it up because to me, exploring new environment and experience new things is way more important than “Degree”. I had spent 5 years at the University of Cambodia. It was the greatest experience and achievement in my life. I have learned so many precious lessons and valuable experiences. It was a door for me to see a better world, building a better perspective, having a better idea, and getting to know lots of great people. Thanks to Dr. Haruhisa Handa for providing a full scholarship to me and other Cambodian students to study at University of Cambodia through a competition every year. Without this opportunity, I would not be who I am today. It was also one of the reasons that urge me to dream even bigger. I have always been so curious about the differences between Cambodia and other countries.
Even though, I had a dream but I didn’t properly plan and prepare myself to get ready for it. I have just started planning it after I graduated which was a bit late. I thought it was as easy as getting a scholarship in my own country yet it turned out way more difficult than I expected. It was all because I didn’t have a clear plan. So in my next post, I would like to share some tips that I have learned from my experiences to you.
“If you want to get a scholarship, you must want it so badly.”
“You need to have enough weapons before going to the battle.”
“You must get yourself ready for the failure if you want to win.”
